What: If your child loves writing stories, poems, or comic strips, this camp is for them! Creative Writing +Art Camp consists of a writing mini-lesson, activity, games, and getting feedback from peers and the instructor. There will also be a focus on connecting vivid, imaginative visual art to their written work. At the end of camp, students will take home their portfolio of work. Our final day of camp will include a trip to the Children's Alliance Garden and Splash Pad!

Who: All 2nd-5th graders led by Ms. Kurth, Third Grade Teacher
What: A fun, safe place to put pencil to paper and unleash your wildest stories. We will play games to help develop story ideas, learn about the writing process, and of course, LOTS of writing! At the end of the year, each student will get their own published book with their writing.
When: Every Monday during the school year after school-4:00 pm - Start date: September 11

What: Join us for our final Drama Club session of the year! This is an eight-week club that focuses on the aspects of acting and theatre. Drama Club will include acting warm-ups, plot and character development, and games. Two additional weeks that will include more fun acting games and activities! *Photo, Video, and Sound Recording Release and Consent Form must be signed.
When: Every Thursday beginning April 18 for 5 weeks (following AISD calendar) after school until 4:00 pm (rehearsal and filming meetings may run over)
Where: Ms. Kurth's Classroom
Cost: $235 for a 5-week session
Additional Details: About Mr. Ripley: Jeremiah Ripley is a Theatre Educator and Practitioner. He was born and raised in the Appalachian town of Wheeling, West Virginia and currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. Jeremiah received his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Sociology from Fairmont State University and his Master of Fine Arts in Acting from California State University, Los Angeles. He studied Improv and Sketch Comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Hollywood and Studio Acting at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. Jeremiah has worked in elementary education for over ten years as a Theatre Director, Improv Enrichment Teacher, After School Program Leader, ESL Instructor, and a Behavioral Intervention Specialist. Mr. Ripley is very excited to be a part of Drama Club!
Who: All kinder-5th graders led by Ms. Kurth, Casis Third Grade Teacher, and Mr. Ripley, Theatre Educator and Practitioner
What: Each day will focus on the aspects of theatre, which will include acting warm-ups and games, actor and plot development, and scriptwriting. Each student will get to write, cast, and perform their own play, and we will send the recorded performance to families.
When: Sessin 1: June 10-14 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Session 2: July 8-12 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

*Please make sure this book is appropriate for your child's reading level.
What: Book club that will include discussions, games, art and STEAM projects related to the book, and read alouds. Each month will focus on a new novel. Book Club reading could count towards students' nightly reading requirements. Note: Students will be given a “pacing guide” to know which chapters to read before each book club meeting and are asked to come prepared and ready to discuss.
When: Every Wednesday beginning September 6 (following AISD calendar) after school until 4:00 pm
Where: Ms. Kurth's Classroom
Cost: $185/per month (book not included)
